The Use Cases for the preparatory work is given below. This essentially covers the data collection that is required before the timetable can be constructed and consists of the following areas.
The details of each institute needs to be collected. There can be multiple institutes but there must be at least one. The University Council is responsible for recognising new institutes
The details of each programme and for each programme the details of each module are required. These are both approved by the Academic Council and essentially describe the course of study.
Students will be enrolled into a course of study and the number of students enrolled in each module needs to be known to define the resource requirements. The Registrar is responsible for the enrolment of students into modules.
The Institute will be able to provide the information on staff and room details and also determine the times that lectures will be conducted and for how long each lecture will last. The principal of each institute is responsible for each of these details.
For each module a lecturer will be assigned responsibility of it. This will be determined by teh principal of each institute.
